Today, all of Scoil Naomh Mhuire went on our annual Autumn field trip to Donadea Forest Park. After our mams and dads dropped us to the park, we got into our groups. We all had to do a scavenger hunt, finding, identifying and drawing many species of plants and animals. We found oak, ash, beech, sycamore, horse-chestnut and birch trees as well as many forest plants such as ferns, mosses, wild flowers and grasses. Unfortunately, we didn’t see too much wild-life besides the ducks. Maybe we were too noisy and scared them away! After the scavenger hunt we had a picnic and then played football and other games. Then we went back to Staplestown NS in time for lunch.
