There was great excitement in 5th and 6th class last week as the pupils prepared to take part in the Primary Science Fair at the RDS on Saturday.
The boys and girls put the final touches to their project which investigated “How to Design a Schoolbag to Minimise Back Strain and Improve Posture”.
The pupils were outstanding at their exhibition stand on Saturday and they showed a great knowledge of their project. Visitors to their stand and Primary Science judges commended them on both their scientific work and their confidence and ability to talk about their project.
It was a great achievement for the pupils and Ms Radford to have been selected to participate in this prestigious national event. The RDS Primary Science Fair provides a public forum for primary schools across Ireland to showcase their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) projects and to receive feedback from experts in the field. Pupils also benefit enormously as they learn from viewing other projects at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.
Thanks to Ms Radford and her pupils for all the hard work. Thanks also to the their parents for coming all the way to the RDS on a cold January morning.
